Gentleman East is a 4-piece rock back consisting of Bret Alexander, Paul Smith, and Ron Simasek (all formerly of The Badlees) and Aaron Fink (formerly of Breaking Benjamin). The Badlees were an American roots rock band from Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania formed in 1990. They released several independent albums and achieved national success with their hit 1995 album River Songs. Breaking Benjamin is an American rock band from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, formed in 1999. The original lineup released four albums, Saturate (2002), We Are Not Alone (2004), Phobia (2006) and Dear Agony (2009), before entering an extended hiatus.

Gentleman East are leaning on the decades of touring experience and solid, old school songwriting chops, the band blends elements of Rock, Blues, and Americana into a sound reminiscent of The Black Crowes, Govt. Mule, The Black Keys, and Tom Petty.
