Discovery Series: Homeschool Days at the Ned Smith Center (February)

Homeschool families are invited to join educators at the Ned Smith Center for a guided workshop, craft, or walk! Each month from September to March will bring a new opportunity for learning and creativity with topics ranging from Spring wildflowers to Fall trees. Lessons are targeted to elementary aged-students, but will be adapted based on attendance. Registration required; $5.00 per student, one free adult admission per student. Attendance is limited. For groups of more than 10 students, please contact the Center to coordinate.

February's theme: Winter Birds
Where do birds go in the winter? Why do we see some birds in February, but not others? During this lesson we’ll learn more about birds, migration, and have the opportunity to use binoculars and observe birds on property. Each student will also receive a set of flashcards to help identify common winter birds you can find in your own backyard!
